Woman dies following attack

A woman has been stabbed at an address in Rotherhithe.

A woman in her 60s has been stabbed to death in Surrey Quays.

Officers were called to an address on Greenland Quay yesterday afternoon to reports a woman has been attacked.

A 61-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after he entered the River Thames.

Police were called to reports of the woman being stabbed in Greenland Quay, SE16.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson has said “Police were called shortly before 15:00hrs on Friday, 29 November to reports of a woman stabbed at an address on Greenland Quay, SE16.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended. The woman has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.”

A man has since been arrested in the area on suspicion of attempted murder, after he entered the River Thames. The man has been taken to hospital as a precaution. 

The Metropolitan Police have also said “The man and woman are believed to be known to each other” and that “enquiries continue.”
