Maritime Radio is now available on digital radio for the first time.
The local radio station serving Greenwich, is now available throughout south east London and north west Kent, as it joins the new digital radio multiplex from Saturday 14th February.
Maritime Radio is preparing for a major step in its evolution as it moves onto DAB digital radio for the first time, thanks to the launch of a new multiplex serving south east London and north west Kent. The development follows Ofcom’s decision to award the small‑scale DAB licence for the area to greenDAB Limited, a joint venture between Maritime Radio’s parent company, Greenwich Media, and the Bloomsbury Institute.
What the new multiplex means for listeners
- Wider choice of stations: greenDAB says the new multiplex will increase the variety of radio services available across the region.
- A platform for smaller broadcasters: The multiplex opens up space for community and specialist stations that previously struggled to reach larger audiences.
- Maritime Radio on DAB for the first time: Listeners will finally be able to tune in to Maritime Radio on digital sets, marking a significant expansion of the station’s reach.

The new DAB service launched in January, bringing digital coverage to communities across South East London and North West Kent.
