Builders recently made an exciting discovery in the attic of a 100 year-old building in Shooters Hill.
Regular visitors to Shrewsbury House Community Centre in Shooters Hill will know that the building is undergoing some building work, with scaffolding in place around the building as it benefits from a facelift.
Builders working in the attic of the grade II listed building found a fragment of newspaper from 1923, the year the house was built.
The building works are progressing on schedule and the scaffolding is expected to be down by July, with work complete shortly after and a new roof to be revealed.
