Large explosions heard near to The O2 on Greenwich Peninsula are 'nothing to worry about', residents are told.
The public reported hearing 'loud bangs' and seeing smoke on Saturday evening near to the world famous venue.
Users took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their concern.

The Metropolitan Police soon confirmed that the explosions heard were due to some filming work taking place in the area.
We are aware of reports of explosions being heard in the vicinity of the #O2 in #Greenwich.

This was part of a pre-planned filming event in the Canning Town #E16 area.
There is no risk to the public
