Arsenal close to completing signing of Calafiori

Calafiori Arsenal transfer

Arsenal are nearing the completion of signing Bologna and Italy international Rccardo Calafiori with the 22-year-old left-back having impressed at the recent European Championships where he was one of Italy's standout players in their disappointing campaign. Calafiori is widely regarded as one of Bologna's best players and played a crucial in helping the northern Italian side qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season. Most football pundits, critics, and fellow players regarded the left-back as being among the best defenders last season in Serie A in regards to his performances on the pitch. Due to this, many pundits are of the view that Calafiori would leave Bologna over the next couple of seasons due to his impressive performances. The transfer will be completed over the next couple of weeks with the two clubs close to agreeing on the transfer fee and weekly wages. The transfer is also likely to fix Arsenal's problems at left-back with Calafiori likely to replace Zinchenko in that role. Bologna are also due to receive a large sum of money for transfer due to the high transfer fee which Arsenal are due to pay. The transfer also helps strengthen Arsenal's bid for the Premier League title this coming season as well as improve their already formidable defence.
