Local favourite, The Bombay Swanley, has secured a major national honor after being named the Best Indian Restaurant in the UK at the prestigious Curry Life Awards 2026.
The family-run establishment took top honours during a ceremony at the InterContinental London Park Lane on Sunday, October 4. The award follows another milestone for the team earlier this year, when the venue was named among the UK's top 100 Asian restaurants.
Organised by the Curry Life Media Group, the annual awards recognize the very best across the country's curry industry—celebrating top-tier restaurants, takeaways, chefs, and suppliers.
The Swanley restaurant is the second venue under The Bombay name, building on the success of its original sister location opened in Orpington in the 1980s. Managed by brothers Shahjahan Miah, MJ Miah, and Kobir Hussain, the restaurant serves a mix of classic and modern Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine.
Alongside traditional tandoori and biryani dishes, their menu features signature favorites like rumjhum-style chicken and Goan-style coconut curries. The award continues a strong winning streak for the team, following their win as National Newcomer of the Year at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards in 2025.
Speaking after the award presentation, co-owner Shahjahan Miah shared his gratitude with the community:
"Absolutely thrilled and honoured to win Best Indian Restaurant at the Curry Life Awards. A huge thank you to our amazing team and, most importantly, to all our wonderful customers for all their support."
