Silvertown Tunnel closures

There will be a number of planned overnight closures to the Silvertown Tunnel for maintenance and snagging works in late May and June.

The Silvertown Tunnel will close for 17 nights through to the end of June for maintenance work — less than two months after opening.

A Transport for London (TfL) spokesperson said: “In order to facilitate maintenance and snagging works, the Silvertown Tunnel will be subject to overnight closures from 10pm to up until 6am on a number of dates in late May and June.

During these closures, traffic will be diverted via the Blackwall Tunnel where possible. TfL will look to ensure bus services can continue to run where possible during these overnight closures, and has been communicating with drivers about the closures via variable messaging signs on the approaches to the tunnels and via weekly customer emails.”

Saturday 31 May 10pm-6am (Southbound only)

Sunday 1 June 10pm-5am (Southbound only)

Monday 2 June 10pm-5am (Southbound only)

Tuesday 3 June 10pm-5am (Southbound only)

Wednesday 4 June 10pm-5am (Both directions closed)

Thursday 5 June 10pm-5am (Northbound only)

Friday 6 June 10pm-6am (Both directions closed)

Saturday 7 June 10pm-6am (Both directions closed)

Sunday 8 June 10pm-5am (Both directions closed)

Friday 13 June 10pm-6am (Both directions closed)

Saturday 14 June 10pm-6am (Both directions closed)

Sunday 15 June 10pm-5am (Both directions closed)

Wednesday 18 June 10-5am (Southbound only)

Friday 20 June 10pm-6am (Both directions closed)

Saturday 21 June 10pm-6am (Both bores closed)

During the southbound only closures – buses will be diverted via the Blackwall Tunnel During northbound and both direction closures – buses will operate a split-service terminating at Canning Town and North Greenwich, with customers advised to use the Tube or take the route 108 to complete their journey across the river.
