A Dispersal Order has been put in place until lunchtime on Friday.
A section 35 Dispersal Zone has been authorised covering parts of Abbey Wood and Thamesmead.
It gives police the power to exclude a person from an area for a period of up to 48 hours with an Inspector's authority.
The Dispersal Zone comes following reports of young people planning fights in this location.
The Met Police say local officers will be out on patrol in the area.
