Special lunch marks a special anniversary
This week, Blackfen Community Library has marked its 10th anniversary, with a series of special events, culminating in a special lunch on Monday 1st June.
Local residents, Councillors and local MP Louie French joined the event to celebrate a decade of community service, and hear from the many volunteers and team who have made the library a success. The Deputy Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Frazer Brooks, also spoke at the event, thanking everyone for all of their support over the years.
It now has 8,679 members stocking over 17,000 books, and last year welcomed 105,000 visits.
Guests at the birthday celebrations also heard stories, played quizzes and received gifts of sunflower seeds to plant and anniversary key rings.
