A new digital radio service has been announced for south east London and north west Kent.
The new service will provide a greater choice for listeners in the area.
Communications regulator, Ofcom, have announced that they are awarding the contract to run digital radio, DAB, services in south east London and north west Kent to greenDAB Limited, which is a joint venture between the parent company of Maritime Radio, Greenwich Media and Bloomsbury Institute, London.
A spokesperson from greenDAB says, "What it means for listeners is a greater choice of radio stations available throughout the area.
"It also opens up space for smaller radio stations to reach a greater audience".
The new service will also allow listeners to tune in to Maritime Radio on digital radios for the first time.
It is hoped the new service will be available from early 2025.
