Shrewsbury House are pleased to be participating in Open House Festival with Open City again this year.

Built in 1923 by Fred Hulse and Sons, to replace its 18th Century namesake, Grade II listed Shrewsbury House is the focus of the Shrewsbury Park Estate conservation area, built 1934-1936 by John Laing and Sons. Two 20th Century Civil Defence buildings are situated within the grounds as well as listed garden features including a recently restored summer house.
A guided walking tour of Shrewsbury House exploring the house and its surroundings, including the Cold War, Civil Defence control centre with local historian and archaeologist Andy Brockman will be available on Saturday and Sunday at:
11am-1pm
2pm-4pm

Please note that the grounds contain some areas with steps and uneven surfaces and there is currently only stair access to the upper floors.
