This week on Trevor Blackman Now, we bring you three powerful conversations exploring resilience, justice and the importance of giving communities a voice.
We begin with Debbie Allen, author and early years specialist, whose personal journey through unimaginable grief inspired her to create Hearts in the Community. Through storytelling, music and her Bounce and Rhyme programme, Debbie is helping children develop confidence while strengthening family bonds and reminding us why investing in the earliest years can change lives.
We then turn our attention to Sudan, where Amy Goodman and Democracy Now! examine a humanitarian crisis that many believe is not receiving the international attention it deserves. As conflict continues to devastate communities, we ask what responsibility the global community has when warning signs are clear.
Finally, we share a special Black Health Legacy Roundtable Conversation, commissioned through Edmonton Community Partnership as part of our ongoing work to ensure communities are not simply researched, but heard. Bringing together researchers, clinicians, community leaders and residents, the discussion explores health inequalities, genetics, trust in research and why Black communities must be active partners in shaping healthier futures.
Join us for thoughtful conversations that challenge, inform and inspire.
