Now Playing

This Sunday at 12pm on #TrevorBlackmanNow

This week on Trevor Blackman Now, I explore three very different stories with one question at their heart: who's shaping our future?

From artificial intelligence and our sense of identity to new music and the battle for voting rights in America, it's another packed show.

Ruby Taman Returns: AI and the Human Connection

Artificial intelligence is changing our world. It can write, advise, organise our lives and even influence our decisions.

But as technology becomes smarter, are we becoming more disconnected from ourselves?

Our resident guru, Ruby Taman, returns to explore the fascinating relationship between AI and self-knowing.

Ruby is a transformational coach, trauma-informed somatic practitioner, Reiki Master and shamanic healer, as well as the founder of The Sacred Ibis.

We discuss whether AI can help us better understand ourselves, how we protect our intuition and identity, and why remaining human matters more than ever.

Neemah Star Returns with Her New Single, Witch Trials

Rising singer-songwriter Neemah Star is back!

Growing up between the Cayman Islands and Florida, Neemah has developed a distinctive musical identity.

Following our conversation earlier this year, she returns with her latest single, Witch Trials.

Blending the psychedelic influences of Pink Floyd with the atmospheric storytelling of Lana Del Rey, the track explores being an outsider, finding your place and having the courage to be yourself.

We catch up with Neemah about her musical journey, the inspiration behind her new release and what comes next.

Georgia, America: Black Voters and the Fight for Democracy

We also turn our attention to the United States, following this week's midterm elections.

In Georgia, the political spotlight falls on Black voter participation, voting rights and the continuing struggle for representation.

Professor Carol Anderson, Professor of African American Studies at Emory University, examines the significance of Black voter turnout and the wider political battles shaping American democracy.

What do these elections tell us about the future of voting rights? And what lessons should the rest of the world take from America's political divisions?

Three Stories. One Big Question.

Technology is changing how we live. Music is challenging how we see ourselves. And democracy is testing who gets heard.

Different conversations, but all connected by questions of identity, power and the future.

Join me this Sunday on Trevor Blackman Now, broadcasting on Maritime Radio 96.5FM and DAB.

Moving at pace, but never without purpose.
