Voters urged to make their voice heard on Thursday, May 5

With local elections just days away, Greenwich council is urging voters to make sure they’re ready to have their say on May 5. Sarah McClinton, Deputy Chief Executive of the Borough, has reminded voters that last year’s boundary review means many will be voting in new wards. Greenwich is set to elect 55 councillors across 23 wards, an increase from 17 wards at the last election. The council said an online interactive map is available to help find new ward names.

For further information on elections in their area, voters can visit www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voter.

Meanwhile, residents’ groups have been organising local hustings in different wards in the borough. On April 26, Peninsula Ward held its hustings. Both East Greenwich ward and Charlton Village & Riverside ward held their hustings on April 20. Greenwich Park has its hustings on April 29.
