Greenwich will be celebrating national Volunteers’ Week from today. The annual event aims to recognise and celebrate the contribution made by the millions of people who volunteer all over the UK.
A volunteer bus will be touring the borough this week, giving an opportunity for residents to learn more about the many volunteering opportunities locally, allowing them to help out their local community, learn a new skill or get more involved in a cause close to their hearts.
The volunteer bus will be in General Gordon Square in Woolwich until 4pm today, Saturday; before moving to Morrisons in Thamesmead from 10am on Sunday.
On Monday and Tuesday it will also appear at Cutty Sark; at Ikea in Charlton; at Plumstead’s Bannockburn School and in Eltham High Street.
