We’re up in the air with the Local landmark of the Day – taking flight with the Emirates Airline cable car.
The cable car connects North Greenwich with Royal Victoria Dock and opened on 28 June 2012, in time for the London Olympic Games.
Dubai-based airline Emirates provided £36 million in a 10-year sponsorship deal which included branding of the cable car service with the airline’s name.
The cable car can carry about 2,500 people per hour.
