Modifications to West Greenwich’s contraversial low traffic neighbourhood scheme could see motor vehicles once again allowed to use Hyde Vale during rush hour.
The road, which runs between Greenwich Town Centre and the A2 on Blackheath had been closed to all motor traffic using planters and later camera enforcement after access concerns were raised by emergency services. But under the proposal all traffic would once again be permitted on the road between 7 and 9am weekday mornings, with black cabs allowed through at all times.
The plans await the decision of Greenwich Cabinet Member for Environment, Sustainability and Transport, Sarah Merrill.
