Thieves take charity van

Staff at Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice have expressed their shock after one of their charity shop vehicles was stolen.

The white Luton van, which is used to move stock around the charity’s 17 shops, was taken from the hospice’s retail distribution centre in Welling last Saturday. It was later seen being driven through the area.

Betty Sorrell, head of retail for the charity said that the van was a vital resource and that “…the funds it helped raise were used to support the hospice’s patients with life threatening illnesses, their families and carers.”
