Following a month of fund-raising and a 12 hour walk around Greenwich, Maritime Radio presenter Gary Silvester and Vanessa Nunn have counted up how much they have raised, with all proceeds going to the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.
On his Thursday morning show, Gary revealed that the final figure raised was £829.50, which was well over the £500 they had hoped to raise!
A clearly emotional Gary said “I’m truly humbled by how much has been raised by the Big Greenwich Walk. We wanted to raise at least £500, but have raised so much more! We’re both very emotional on the total”.
Gary is very grateful to the kind generosity of the Maritime Radio listeners who gave to this fantastic cause. He says it will really make a difference to the hospice.
