Sustainable fashion took over the Lewisham Shopping Centre.
Local makers and designers who focus on sustainable fashion got together on Sunday April 24 at the pop up market in the Lewisham Shopping Centre to sell their products from fashion to homewares and jewellery.
The Sustainable Fashion Pop Up Market was organised by Make Mee Studio, a social enterprise based in Brockley that focuses on teaching sewing skills to adults and children.
For the past 6 weeks founders and directors of Make Mee Studio, Tracy and Jaime, have taken over a disused shop in Lewisham shopping Centre
and are running drop in Clothing Repair Station. The workshops are being offered for free thanks to two different grants from Lewisham Council that aim to help bring people back to our high streets.
The free mending workshops are open every Saturday between 11 and 5 pm and anyone is welcome to go and learn for free how to mend their clothes. The next date is Saturday 30th – 11 – 5pm. The workshops will continue until mid-June.
