Greenwich council is urging people to report illegal fly-tipping in their area.
Fly-tipping is the deliberate dumping of rubbish in place where it shouldn’t be left.
It doesn’t matter if it is a single bag of rubbish, a mattress or a large amount of builders rubble, it is illegal and you can be prosecuted if you get caught.
The Council will only clear up fly-tips on land that they are responsible for and will always first try to gather evidence and catch the people responsible.
If you witness a fly-tipping incident in progress, you can help by sending the details to the Royal Borough of Greenwich, by email, on envirocrime@royalgreenwich.gov.uk
