Riot police were called to Welling on Friday night as hundreds of youths descended on the area.
The crowds of young people were reportedly attending a party in Deepdene Road, just off Welling High Street, and fears of disorder led police to close the high street and divert buses while they dispersed the youths. Weapons, including a machete were discovered and three people were arrested.
A section 60 search order, which allows police to stop and search anyone within a defined area, was imposed until the early hours of Saturday morning to prevent trouble as the youths dispersed.
