Greenwich Council has praised the community’s overwhelming response to an appeal for personal protective equipment (PPE) for the borough’s healthcare workers.
Supplies of equipment including masks and gloves have poured in from local schools, dentists and housing associations. The extra equipment will mean that much-needed hospital beds can be freed up and those caring for people in the community adequately protected.
There is still a shortage of eye protection. If anyone can help, supplies can be dropped off at the Woolwich Centre.
