One of the most popular shops in Greenwich with both locals and tourist is Nauticalia in Nelson Road. If you’re coming by boat, here are the coordinates: 51˚28.9’N. 00˚00.4’W.
Nauticalia is in fact “The First Shop in the World” – just yards from the Meridian line, and close to Cutty Sark and the National Maritime Museum.
Nauticalia began in 1974, as a floating marine antiques shop in a converted rubbish barge on the River Thames at Shepperton. They have several shops throughout the UK, often in places with a maritime heritage, like here in Greenwich.
