A massive house fire has broken out in Woolwich.
Eight fire engines with around 60 firefighters rushed to a property in Crescent Road just after 6.30pm.
Reports that a man was taken to hospital by the ambulance service were confirmed by the London Fire Brigade.
The man was suffering from smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene initially by paramedics.
Part of the first floor and half of the roof was alight while firefighters tackled the flames.
Fire crews from Plumstead and surrounding areas are at the scene.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
