A man was arrested just after 6pm yesterday near Tesco in General Gordon Square after being found in possession of a knife, a firearm and a quantity of powder. There are no reports of any injuries. Police closed off Tesco in Woolwich and told shoppers to run after a man was seen armed with a knife.
The car park entrance and green space in front of the store were sealed off.
