London Marathon Road Closures

London Marathon Road Closures

The 38th annual London Marathon takes place this Saturday and residents in the Maritime Radio area are being warned to expect some disruption from road closures and parking restrictions.

More than 41,000 participants will take on the 26.2-mile course, starting at Blackheath, passing through Charlton, Woolwich and Greenwich town centre before leaving the borough as they head towards Deptford.

Advance warning signs have been displayed in affected roads in the build up to Race Day and stewards will be present on the day itself to help answer queries.

Roads will be closed from 7am and vehicle access to and from properties will not be possible until the roads reopen at approximately 2pm. Residents are being advised that if they do need to go out in a vehicle on the day, that they do so before 7am.  Parking restrictions and vehicle removals will start along the whole of the route at 6.30am on the morning of the marathon.
