The 2016 London Marathon is tomorrow.
Tens of thousands of runners will be heading to London for the marathon, which gets going from the start lines at Greenwich Park and Blackheath.
The road closures will affect our area from as early as 7am.
The Red Start will see Charlton Way close at 7am, with the Blue Start at Shooters Hill Road closed off at the same time.
Other roads closing include:
Charlton Road, Little Heath, Charlton Park Lane, Artillery Place and John Wilson Street (Woolwich), which should all reopen at 12 noon.
Woolwich Church Street, Woolwich Road,Trafalgar Road, Creek Road and Evelyn Street will be closed from 7am and reopen at 2pm.
Beyond the Greenwich area, Surrey Quays Road, Salter Road, Brunel Road, Jamaica Road and Tower Bridge will be closed at 8am and open from 4pm.
On Public Transport, London Underground, London Overground, and the DLR all have extra services running and this is definitely the best way to travel if you are planning on going to cheer on the runners!
Buses in our area that use the roads that are closed, will be diverted or not run their usual route.
Thames Clippers will be running special River Bus marathon services from central London to Greenwich Pier.
Spectators are being advised to plan ahead and expect it to be especially busy around the Cutty Sark and Tower Bridge
If you’re running on Sunday, best of luck!
