Russ Handy caught up with local author J.J Irwin from Plumstead to find out more about his book, Once A Boy.
Once A Boy is the story of a young boy’s interaction with the world of the late 1950s and 1960s.
The book offers an accurate insight into the social structure and fabric of working class southern Britain during the pre-computer age.
The book, says Plumstead writer J.J.Irwin, is dedicated to children – however old they may be!
Irwin, who grew up in Northfleet, told Maritime Radio what first inspired him to write.
