Housing estates get their own safety patrol teams

Housing estates across Greenwich will be patrolled by a seven-member team in an effort to crack down on crime. The newly launched Safer Estates teams will work closely with local communities on public safety issues. The teams will tackle everything from anti-social behaviour to environmental offences and youth crime. Dedicated officers will focus solely on violence against women and girls.

Meanwhile, Greenwich  Council has a new draft plan for women’s safety. Its four key themes are as follows: the prevention of and the response to domestic abuse; safety in public places; educating young men and boys and improving women and girls’ access to Council services. The deadline for public comment is Monday, March 28.
