Greenwich, like other parts of London, will soon face a hosepipe ban with Thames Water announcing restrictions on water use “in coming weeks”.
It didn’t say when the ban would come into effect but urged customers to reduce water use in the meantime.
The hosepipe ban comes as the UK faces one of its driest summers on record. The Met Office has issued a four-day amber heat warning as temperatures soar into the late 30s again.
