A recent Maritime Radio Heart of Gold has been thanked by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich for raising money for the Safari Children’s ward.
Paul Billington from Plumstead set up a fundraiser for the ward after a number of toys and games were stolen earlier this year.
Paul started a GoFundMe page and has raised £1,205 for the staff to replace essential play equipment suitable for children of all ages.
Maritime Radio reported on the sad news of the theft back in May and also received a number of donations of toys and games to our reception area, from generous residents, which we passed on to the hospital.
Local companies and people also donated a very generous amount of equipment.
