People made homeless in Greenwich may now be housed outside the borough as accommodation costs in the area rise.
Greenwich Council has signed off on a £60m scheme to buy more housing further afield, in hopes of easing the chronic shortage of council housing in Greenwich.
There are currently nearly 20,000 people on the council’s accommodation waiting list.
