Who said pubs were on their last legs? The Pelton Arms in Greenwich and the recently reopened Star in Plumstead are both pulling in celebrity acts.
Drinkers at the ‘Pelton’ this weekend were treated to a performance by Squeeze’s Glenn Tilbrook! The pub has been a regular venue for Tilbrook and fellow Squeezer Chris Difford in recent years.
Mark Smith, who was at the pub, tweeted: Man walks into a pub to find random member of Squeeze strutting his stuff on stage!
Further east in Plumstead, Star landlord and stand-up comedian Rob Collins has sold out the pub’s first comedy night – with the help of none other than Stewart Lee (pictured). The event, on Tuesday The 15th September, will see Lee headline at the recently refurbished pub.
