Greenwich does poorly in new report on inequality

A new report has found that Greenwich faces unique and persistent levelling up challenges of all London’s 32 boroughs.

The report, compiled by the think tank Centre for London, says that even before the rise in energy costs this year, 17% of Greenwich households were in fuel poverty, compared to 13% of households across England.

At least 10% of the people who are in work in Greenwich earn less than the real living wage for London, the report said.

It added that at 42%, the child poverty rate in Greenwich is higher than the English average of 30%.
