George Mead Memorial Stables in Upper Wickham Lane, Welling was taken on by a mother who sadly lost her son, George, when he died unexpectedly when he was just 21 months old. It’s a non-profit organisation which George’s mother, Lauren, opens to the public in memory of George who just loved animals and horses.
It’s a great place for the community to visit when we are not in lockdown and is loved by children and adults alike. You can’t be too young or too old to have fun here, having horse or pony rides or visiting and having the option of feeding the goats, sheep and donkeys.
It is sadly in need of funds to save it from permanent closure. There is no financial help from anyone, and is totally reliant on your donations. They have currently raised £3,230 and have a target of £5,000, but even when this is fully raised, they will continue to rely on donations for the upkeep and feeing the animals.
Please click on the gofundme page below if you would like to donate any spare pennies you can to help keep these stables open.

They are also going to offer the chance to sponsor an animal in the future.
