Lesnes Abbey Spring Talks
June 16 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm BST
£3.50Lesnes Abbey Spring Talks- Introduction to the Archaeology and Recording of Ancient Buildings
About this event
The talk will look at a range of archaeological buildings and structures from Prehistoric, Roman, Medieval and early Post-medieval times which represented religious-ritual, death-burial, domestic and public styles, and how they evolved, and changed over a long period of time.
During the talk, we ill also include the on-going Lesnes Abbey Building Research Projects work, which so far has surveyed-recorded the Kitchen, Dorter, and Rear Dorter buildings, and in some cases revealed a number of previously unknown building patterns across this landscape.
From this talk you should be able to visit the Lesnes Abbey ruins and some other ancient buildings across Britain, with a better understanding of how they developed and changed through time to become the recognisable building and structure we still see today.
Cost: £3.50
