Following a month of fund-raising and a 12 hour walk around Greenwich, Maritime Radio presenter Gary Silvester has counted up how much was raised, with all proceeds going to the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.
In total £829.50 was raised for the hospice, beating the £500 target and last week Gary was able to hand over the cheque to the hospice.
A clearly emotional Gary said “I’m truly humbled by how much has been raised by the Big Greenwich Walk. We wanted to raise at least £500, but have raised so much more! We’re both very emotional on the total”.
Gary is very grateful to the kind generosity of the Maritime Radio listeners who gave to this fantastic cause. He says it will really make a difference to the hospice.
