East Greenwich Park to be redeveloped

Greenwich Council has announced its intention to sell for development a piece of green space in East Greenwich.

The Rose Garden, a small public park between Blackwall Lane and Tunnel Avenue contains mature trees and rose bushes and is one of very few remaining green spaces in the area, which is heavily polluted by the nearby A102 dual carriageway.

The East Greenwich Residents’ Association has opposed the sale, calling the park a “much needed carbon sink in a sea of roads”.
