Students and staff at local universities have become part of the growing number nationwide now infected with Covid-19.
Greenwich University has confirmed 18 student cases and two among its staff, while Goldsmiths, University of London, in New Cross, has seen 15 confirmed cases across its staff and student population. Greenwich’s Vice Chancellor, Jane Harrington has said that all the affected students are receiving daily support and that their contacts have been put into isolation.
Universities across the UK have become hotspots of Covid-19 infection since the new term began, with thousands in isolation and many others receiving their teaching online.
