Coronavirus in Queen Elizabeth Hospital

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust confirmed at 2:40pm today (Monday, March 9) that it had a confirmed case of coronavirus from a patient inside Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich.

A statement said an inpatient within Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) had been diagnosed with Covid-19, but services remain open as usual. So the trust are advising members of the public to attend hospital appointments as planned.

This marks the first confirmed case of coronavirus in the Greenwich borough with three cases already confirmed in Lewisham and one in Bromley.

The trust are working with Public Health England and are contacting all patients and staff who possibly have had contact with the patient as a precautionary measure.

Unless you have been contacted by Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust by the end of the day (Monday, March 9) then you are not considered at risk.
