This Christmas we joined forces with Morrisons in Sidcup to give a deserving member of our community a Christmas treat – with all the trimmings!
Throughout November and December, we asked you to nominate a family or individual who has had a particularly hard time this year, or maybe someone who helped the community and deserved a special treat!
You didn’t disappoint and we had a difficult job going through all of the nominations and reading some heart-felt stories about your loved ones.

The winner was announced on Christmas Eve on Greenwich Breakfast and the lucky recipient is Beverley O’Brien, from Eltham!
She was nominated by her neighbours who said, “Beverley has been an inspiration to our local community over the past few years. She runs a local Facebook page, Eltham SE9 and over the years has done so much for the community.
“Last Christmas she got funding to put together 57 full Christmas Day hampers for local families who were struggling, spending hours of her time getting the hampers, organising the collection, filling her house and the freezers to store 57 turkeys and giving them out.
“She also set up a food bank during the coronavirus pandemic to help feed the local community. This was for everyone and she also spent so much of her time collecting the donated food sorting, it all out and delivering it to people who were self isolating or didn’t have transport. She really is an inspiration to our community and it would be lovely to give something to someone who only every thinks of others.”
Congratulations Beverley!
