Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in which a van collided with a bus stop, killing one and leaving two others requiring treatment in hospital.
A teenage boy died on Tuesday when a van crashed into a bus stop near Blackheath.
Emergency services were called at 3.30pm following reports that three pedestrians had been injured in a collision.
The Metropolitan Police, the London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance and London Fire Brigade attended the scene at the junction of Eltham Road and Kidbrooke Park Road.
All three victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
Just over an hour after the crash, a 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead. Police said his family had been informed and were receiving support from specialist officers.
The other two victims, a 40-year-old woman and an eight-year-old boy remain in hospital and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The 40-year-old driver of the van stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was later released under investigation.
