Greenwich Council is hoping to elect more members as the population of the borough grows. The number of residents in Greenwich is forecast to increase to almost 212,000 people by 2025, from fewer than 196,000 now.
Greenwich’s 51 existing councilors are finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with the casework generated by the increased numbers, so the borough intends to ask the Local Government Boundary Commission for four new councilors from 2022, bringing Greenwich Council numbers to 55.
