Black Health, Equity and Accountability — This Week on the Show

This week, Trevor leads a vital conversation on Black health and equity.

The African Health Policy Network joins the programme to examine HIV inequality in Black communities, the importance of trans inclusion, and why health equity must mean everyone — no exclusions. CEO Deryck Browne shares the policy perspective, service users Elizabeth brings lived experience, and Community Engagement Officer Maureen Ndawana highlights how community voices shape national decisions.

We then turn to prostate cancer and the PSA test. New Oxford research is asking older men what informed choice truly looks like — especially as Black men face higher risk. Molly Sobola, Director at SheaClass Ltd Diagnostic Medical Accessible Consultancy (DMAC), explains how she is engaging Black men over 80 in this critical discussion.

Finally, the show heads to the United States, where Black History Month began amid controversy and a refusal to apologise from Donald Trump following his post about the Obamas.
