Each week, Ben Hopkinson looks back at what’s happened the past 7 days and what was trending on Twitter with the Maritime Hashtag Minute. This week’s #MaritimeHashtagMinute was #ElectionDay. Of course the country went down to the polling stations on Thursday, with the eventual winning party being Labour with 412 seats, compared to the Conservative’s 121.
I hope everyone in the UK remembered to VOTE!!! #Elections2024

I have placed a small slip of paper marked with an X into a box, and now I'm sure I will stop worrying about everything.

If you don’t vote, you don’t get to complain about anything for the next 5 years. #Elections2024

The only thing I’ll say about #Elections2024 is that there are two parties I believe in and can get behind, and neither of them will have the majority tomorrow.

But the point is, if you don’t vote, you can’t complain. So regardless of the numbers, vote for who you believe in!
Being able to vote is such a precious thing that shouldn’t be ignored.People died and continue to do so all over the world to protect that right. If your politics are different to mine that’s O.K but millions of small crosses can make a difference. #Elections2024 pic.twitter.com/w38A2ex8S3
