Maritime Hashtag Minute – Sunday 7th December 2025

Each week, Ben Hopkinson looks back at what’s happened the past 7 days and what was trending on Twitter with the Maritime Hashtag Minute. This week’s #MaritimeHashtagMinute was #NationalMuttDay which is celebrated twice a year, this time it was on Tuesday December 2nd. The day celebrates dogs that aren't pure breed and instead mixed, trying to entice more pooches becoming adopted and away from shelters. View the Tweets below:

#NationalMuttDay is celebrated on December 2 and July 31 each year to raise awareness about mixed breed dogs and encourage their adoption from shelters. This day highlights the importance of giving loving homes to the many mutts in need.

If it's December 2, it must be National Mutt Day, a day which encourages us to embrace, save and celebrate mixed breed dogs around the world, twice a year: July 31st and December 2nd.
