This week’s #MaritimeHashtagMinute was #NationalPoetryDay, which was originally created in 1994 by William Sieghart to promote the medium. It has since been organised by the Forward Arts Foundation charity and is celebrated yearly on the first Thursday in October – this year being October 2nd. View the Tweets below:

- and, if done correctly, engagement! Short poems on the right topics (e.g. football) can be a fab way to reach reluctant readers!
