Another one-day strike on Woolwich Ferry

The beleaguered Woolwich Ferry service is to be disrupted once again by strike action on December 19th in a dispute about pay.

Unite, the union which represents the ferry workers has complained that they are not being paid the London Living Wage, a requirement for all Transport for London employees and contractors.

However, Briggs Marine, which runs the ferry, says that if both basic and extra pay is taken into account, its workers’ wages reach the ten pounds seventy-five lower limit for the London Living Wage.
