Enthusiastic crowds enjoyed free tasters of the exciting, state of the art facilities on Tuesday 2 January. The indoor and outdoor centre includes an indoor BMX/Skatepark, ‘clip and climb’ climbing hall and all year round indoor sprint track.

Councillor Denise Scott-McDonald, Cabinet Member for Culture, Creative Industries and Community Well-Being, was there to enjoy the fun of the day, alongside members of the Friends of Sutcliffe Park.

Councillor Scott-McDonald said: “This centre represents a major investment in sports provision in the Royal Borough, especially for the south of the borough. I am delighted that so many residents turned out to enjoy the facilities at the very start of 2018.”

The official opening of the Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre will take place in February.
